About the Business

Over the past fifty years, our staff has helped more than 400 students improve in their driving habits, comprehension, and test-taking skills. As a result, these students have earned better test scores, grown in self-esteem, and confidence. We love celebrating those victories with our students. James Smith Driving School is a small business started in 1958 by James Smith located at 2503 Prospect Ave in Kansas City, MO. James Smith Driving School has been proudly serving the urban core and surrounding areas for over 50 years. The purpose of our business is to teach the public how to operate and drive a motor vehicle safely. Students will be trained properly how to drive safely without being a danger to one’s self or the public at large. Our goal at the end of training is for our students to receive a driver’s license and obtain the knowledge of being a safe and confident driver. All student drivers will be asked to sign a contract stating that they are at least 15 ½ years of age, have a state learner’s permit, and are not under the influence of any illegal drugs or alcohol. The contract will be signed and understood by the student driver before any lessons start.
