About the Business

Our practice was started in 1950 by Dr. Davis’s father and Dr. Nix’s grandfather, Dr. Roy G. Davidson, Jr. Following WWII and time as a POW, Dr. Davidson returned to Birmingham and married the beautiful Betty Jo Travis. He had decided during the war that he wanted to attend dental school and completed his undergraduate requirements for dental school at Howard College. At this time, Alabama did not have a dental school, so Dr. Davidson attended the University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis, TN. Upon graduation, they returned to Birmingham and Dr. Davidson opened his first practice in Edgewood in 1950. He relocated to a new office on Montgomery Highway in Homewood in 1961, where the practice remained until October 2007.
